Upload your own world to a Minecraft server

Move a single-player world to your server, upload a zip, use SFTP for big worlds, or start a fresh one.

A world is the world folder (plus world_nether and world_the_end on Java). Paper reads vanilla saves as they are, so single-player worlds work.

Upload a single-player world

  1. On your computer, find the save: in Minecraft click Singleplayer, select the world, Edit → Open World Folder.
  2. Zip that folder.
  3. In the panel, stop the server, then delete or rename the existing world folder in Files.
  4. Use Upload world and pick the zip. It's unpacked as the server's world.
  5. Start the server and join.

Big worlds: use SFTP

Uploads of a few hundred megabytes are fine in the browser. For anything bigger, SFTP with a desktop app such as FileZilla or WinSCP is faster and can resume. The address, port and username are on the Files page; the password is your Jump password.

Start a fresh world

Use Reset world in Settings. On paid plans it backs up first. To pick the terrain, set level-seed in server.properties before the reset.
