Free modded Minecraft server hosting
Fabric, Quilt, Forge or NeoForge, with mods from Modrinth in one click. Start free, upgrade when the modpack gets big.
Every mod loader
- Fabric and Quilt: light, quick to update, great for performance and quality-of-life mods
- Forge and NeoForge: the big content mods and most classic modpacks
- Arclight, Mohist, Youer and Magma: mods and plugins on one server
- Any Minecraft version the loader supports
Mods in one click
Pick the loader when you create the server, then open Plugins & mods in the panel. The catalog searches Modrinth for mods that fit your loader and version. Install, restart, and it's in.
Have a modpack's files? Upload the mods into the mods folder and its configs into config, through the file manager or SFTP.
What players need
The same loader and the same mods, at the same versions. The easiest way is a modpack in a launcher like Modrinth or CurseForge. Server-side-only mods such as Lithium or FerriteCore need nothing from players.
How much memory a modpack needs
The free plan's 2 GB runs vanilla-plus packs and a few dozen light mods. Bigger kitchen-sink packs want 4 to 8 GB: Iron (4 GB, $9.99/month), Gold (6 GB) or Diamond (8 GB). They're also always on, so a heavy pack doesn't have to wake up every time. See the plans.
Questions
Can I run Forge or NeoForge on the free plan?
Yes. Fabric, Quilt, Forge and NeoForge all work on the free plan. Large modpacks need more memory than its 2 GB, so they run better on a paid plan.
Can I upload a CurseForge modpack?
Yes. Upload the pack's server files (mods, config and the rest) through the file manager or SFTP, on a server with the matching loader and version.
Can I use mods and plugins together?
Yes, on a hybrid like Arclight or Mohist, which run Forge or NeoForge mods and Bukkit plugins on one server.
Do Bedrock players work with mods?
No. Mods need the Java client. Bedrock players can join plugin servers through Geyser, but not modded ones.
