How to install plugins and mods

Install Paper and Spigot plugins or Fabric, Forge and NeoForge mods on your Minecraft server in one click.

Plugins run only on the server; players join with a normal client. Mods need a mod loader on the server and usually the same mods on every player's game.

Install from the catalog

Open Plugins & mods in the panel and search. The catalog comes from Modrinth, filtered to what fits your server's software and version, and marks add-ons tested on Jump as verified. Click Install, then restart.

Upload your own

Anything else goes in the plugins or mods folder through Files or SFTP: upload the .jar and restart. A plugin's settings appear in plugins/<name>/ after its first start.

Plugins: Paper, Purpur, Spigot

Paper servers run Paper and Bukkit/Spigot plugins: EssentialsX, LuckPerms, WorldEdit, GriefPrevention, Dynmap and thousands more. Purpur and the other Paper forks run them too.

Mods: Fabric, Forge, NeoForge

Pick Fabric, Quilt, Forge or NeoForge when you create the server (or switch in Settings). Players install the same loader and mods, usually as a modpack from a launcher such as Modrinth or CurseForge. Server-side-only mods like Lithium need nothing from players. Big modpacks want more memory than the free 2 GB; see upgrading.
