Upgrading to a paid plan
When to upgrade a free Minecraft server, what you get on each plan, and how to switch or cancel.
The free plan's limits are memory (2 GB) and that it sleeps when nobody's on. Player slots aren't limited on any plan. Paid plans are always on, run on our fastest machines and back up on their own.
| Plan | Memory | Backups | Monthly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stone | 2 GB | Hourly | $4.99 |
| Iron | 4 GB | Hourly | $9.99 |
| Gold | 6 GB | Hourly | $14.99 |
| Diamond | 8 GB | Hourly | $19.99 |
Every plan can also be paid weekly, for a little more: handy for an event or a holiday.
How to upgrade
In the panel, use the plan slider on Overview or Settings → Plan. Upgrading keeps the world, address, settings and backups; nothing is re-created. Changing between paid plans charges or credits the difference straight away.
Going back to free
Cancel in Settings → Plan → Manage billing whenever you like. The server stays on its plan until the end of the period you paid for, then goes back to free. The world stays as long as it fits.
