A Server.pro alternative for Minecraft

Server.pro hosts lots of games, and its free option is a short demo. If you want a free Minecraft server that stays yours without renewing it, here's how Jump compares.

Comparison

How Server.pro's free option works

Server.pro's free server is a time-limited demo: you renew it by hand to keep it running, and it's there to try the platform before paying. Its paid plans cover dozens of games across several data centers, and you can move a server between them.

Plans and limits change, so check Server.pro's own pricing page for the current details.

What Jump does differently

  • Free without renewing. A free Jump server sleeps after 15 minutes with nobody online and wakes when anyone joins from Minecraft. There's no button to click to keep it.
  • Made for Minecraft only. Java or Bedrock, with Paper, Purpur, Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and a plugin and mod catalog in the panel.
  • 2 GB free, no card. One free server per account, with a single ad in its panel.
  • Paid plans from $4.99 a month (2 GB), or $1.39 a week, always on with hourly backups. Your first week is from $0.99.
  • Bedrock and Java together. Phones, consoles and Windows players can join a Java server through Geyser.

Where Server.pro may suit you better

If you host other games as well as Minecraft, or your players are in Europe, Server.pro's range of games and locations covers more. Jump only hosts Minecraft, and its servers are in US East and US West.

Moving to Jump

  1. Download your server's files from Server.pro: the world folder, plus plugins/ or mods/ and their configs.
  2. Create a free server on Jump with the same software and version.
  3. Stop it, use Upload world in Files, and upload the plugin or mod folders (or use SFTP for big ones).
  4. Start it and send friends the new address, like yourname.play.jumphosting.cloud.

Questions

Do I have to renew a free Jump server?

No. It sleeps when nobody's on and wakes when someone joins. A free server that isn't started for 90 days is deleted, and you get emails before that happens.

How long does it take to wake up?

About a minute for the first join. Players see a message while it starts, then everyone plays normally.

Is Jump affiliated with Server.pro?

No. Server.pro is a separate company; this page compares the two from Jump's side.

Try it on a free server. No card, online in under a minute.
