A PebbleHost alternative
PebbleHost is known for low prices. If you'd rather start with a free server and upgrade that same server later, here's how Jump compares.
What PebbleHost does well
PebbleHost's budget plans are among the cheapest per gigabyte anywhere, and its premium plans add more locations and a one-click modpack installer. There's no free tier: you pay from the start.
Prices and locations change, so check PebbleHost's own site for current details.
Why people try Jump
- Start free. A 2 GB server with no card. It sleeps when nobody's on and wakes when someone joins.
- Upgrade in place. When you want it always on, pick a plan. The world, address and settings stay.
- Fast machines on every paid plan. AMD Ryzen 9 7950X CPUs and NVMe storage, from $4.99 a month (2 GB), or $1.39 a week. Your first week is from $0.99.
- Backups included. Paid plans back up hourly and keep one from the last hour, a day ago and a week ago.
- Java and Bedrock together through Geyser, already set up on Bedrock servers.
Where PebbleHost may suit you better
If price per gigabyte matters most, PebbleHost's budget plans cost less than Jump's. It also has servers in Europe, Australia and Asia, while Jump runs in US East and US West.
Moving to Jump
- Download your server's files from PebbleHost over SFTP: the world,
plugins/ormods/, and their configs. - Create a server on Jump with the same software and version. Start free, or pick a plan if you need more than 2 GB.
- Stop it and upload the files over SFTP or with Upload world in Files.
- Start it, check the console, and point your domain at the new address if you use one.
Questions
Are backups included?
On every paid plan, yes: hourly, keeping one from the last hour, one about a day old and one about a week old. Free servers have no backups, so download your world now and then.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, on every plan. Add an SRV record pointing at your play.jumphosting.cloud address; there's nothing to set in the panel.
Is Jump affiliated with PebbleHost?
No. PebbleHost is a separate company; this page compares the two from Jump's side.
